Grace Lutheran Church – 2025 CADDS Survey

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ.

I hope and pray that you have all had a chance to review the CADDS Results that were generated from the survey that we took.  The Directors of all the Boards at Grace as well as the Elders have met several times since April to discuss these results and consider what actions to take next.

The Board of Elders and Pastor Kane met with President Saunders from Iowa District East on May 31st to discuss these issues and to ask for his opinions and advice.  He had many suggestions and thoughts.  He thought that the best and most important place to start was reaching out to our inactive members.  This was also the biggest concern that the different Boards had shared with the Board of Elders.

The Parish Planning Counsel met on June 17th and decided that trying to talk to as many of our inactive members as possible should be our first action.  President Saunders told us that he would be available for a Sunday to speak to everyone in the Congregation regarding this issue.  We were able to schedule him to lead our Worship Service and spend time with us during the Bible Study Hour on July 13th. He will share perspective on how to approach this goal and how to communicate with these people who are not with us regularly.

We are missing part of our Body of Christ without these people here.  It is not something that the few people on the Evangelism Board or the Board of Elders can do alone.  We need every member of this Body to help.  It does not necessarily mean that everyone needs to make visits or calls, but there is a need for scheduling calls and visits, researching addresses and phone numbers and other support functions.  One thing everyone can do is to pray.  Pray for success in this undertaking, pray for our inactive members, pray for those who do make calls and visits, and pray for Grace Lutheran!

God has a plan for us.  He knows what is needed and knows how to accomplish his mission.  He also expects us to do our part.  Please plan on attending Service and Bible Study hour on July 13th.

Thank You

Jon Champion, Executive Director
